Goats – Meet Our Tribe

Introduction

Welcome to the newest and ever-expanding addition of our farm — our dairy goats. Currently Woodland Acres Farm has two types of dairy goats: Nigerian Dwarf and Saanens. These affection animals couldn’t be further apart personality wise! Our Nigerians keep us plenty occupied with their silly antics of jumping from rock to rock, to the consistent demands for affection. The two Saanens are quiet and peaceful, though curious and equally looking for affection. There is always fun with the goats! While the milk production is just beginning, many tasty dairy products are in the works such as kefir, yogurt, and cheese.

Our Saanens – Mamie and Michelle

Mamie is a sweet and gentle giant! She has a docile disposition and loves head rubs and body pats.

Michelle has a calm nature and welcomes visitors with a lowered head to accept head rubs and pats.

Clara

Being the daughter of Charlotte, she might not share the same sweetness her mother does, but her black and white coat makes her the prettiest!

Isobel

A new mom and the soul goat to thank for our milk products! On top of being a great caretaker for her three babies, she has a gentle demeanor.

Lucy

Born on April 18th, little Lucy is by far our newest member. Being the daughter of Isobel, she shares her brown coat and sweet personality.

Harry

Harry is Isobel’s son. He is an adorable little guy who loves playing with his sister Lucy! Harry is weathered and a great companion to the ladies. He loves nestling in with his mom and sister for a midday nap.

Lady Sybil

Lady Sybil, Cora’s daughter, is a sweet and gentle gal with a loving disposition. Lovingly attached to her mom, she spends her day nibbling on hay and relaxing in the sunshine.

Cora

Cora, our oldest Nigerian, is by far the sweetest and kindest goat on our farm. She spends her days relaxing with her daughter, Lady Sybil, and looking for head pats from anyone who enters the paddock.
